Walter Hopps

Walter Hopps was an American museum director, gallerist, and curator of contemporary art. During the 1960s, he helped bring Los Angeles post-war artists to prominence and later redefined international curatorial installation practices. He is recognized for his decisive contributions to the emergence of the museum as a primary venue for exhibiting new art.
