Vitruvius

Vitruvius was a Roman architect and engineer active during the 1st century BC. He is best known for his multi-volume treatise De architectura, which remains the only surviving work on architecture from antiquity. Since the Renaissance, the text has been considered a foundational source on architectural theory and the canon of classical design.
