Amartya Sen

Amartya Kumar Sen is an Indian economist and philosopher born in 1933. Since 1972, he has held academic positions in India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998 for his extensive contributions to welfare economics, social choice theory, and the study of economic justice, famines, and public health.
